What are the Important Dates I Need to Know?

SCU has a rolling admission policy, which means that applicants can be accepted at any time during the academic year.  Students may enroll through the last day of each semester’s drop/add period.  For this year’s enrollment deadlines, contact the Office of Admissions at 405.789.7661.

What is SCU's Accreditation?

Southwestern Christian University is accredited through The Higher Learning Commission, a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

What is SCU's ACT/SAT Requirement?

Applicants with less than 12 college credit hours must submit either an ACT or SAT score for admission.
ACT: minimum composite score of 19.

SAT: minimum composite score of 900 (CR+M).

The  ACT or SAT requirement may be waived for students who are 26 years of age or older.

What Does it Cost to Attend SCU?

SCU’s tuition is $525 per credit hour.  To maintain full-time status, students must take a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.

Average cost per year befor Financial Aid is applied and based upon full-time enrollment, room and board, and books is approximately $20,000- 24,000, making Southwestern Christian University one of the most affordable private institutions in the region.  The average Financial Aid Package for students is $12,300 Annually.

What are my Housing Options?

Students under the age of 20 must live either on campus or with a parent or legal guardian. SCU offers six different housing options, ranging in price from $3,150 to $3,950 per semester. A full meal plan is included in the housing cost.

Although Southwestern is academically dedicated in many areas, we are most noted for our studies in Pastoral and Youth Ministry, Music, Business Administration,  Behavioral Sciences, and English.

Education & Kinesiology are at the forefront of a curriculum enhancement campaign at SCU. With plans to add more degrees that are true to its mission, Southwestern Christian University is positioning itself for a prosperous future.

What is the Average Class Size & Student to Teacher Ratio?

At Southwestern, you will not be overlooked in the classroom. With a student / teacher ratio of 15 to 1 and a residential campus lifestyle, you will develop special relationships with your professors and lifelong friendships with peers. You will never find yourself in a class of several hundred.  On average, first year classes will have about 35 students, and in the final year, the average class size is 14.

What is SCU's Identification Number for the FAFSA Form?

When filing the FAFSA application on paper, Step 6 will ask for a School Identification Number: Enter 003180 to have the FAFSA sent to Southwestern Christian University.
